Chocolate!
Vanilla! Strawberry!
In Ellen Brown's StrongStep class in
Aurora, Colorado, Ellen calls out "Chocolate!
Vanilla! Strawberry!" when
"scooping" on a skate step. With that as
inspiration, the students went after class to a local
ice cream parlor to work on their ice cream scoops!

In
These Shoes?
Shelley McAlister's
Flint, Michigan, Aerobic Dancing class had fun with Bette
Midler's song, "In These Shoes?" during the Reach
for the Stars session. Students brought their
favorite shoes, their ugliest shoes, their
"I-can't-believe-I-ever-wore these" shoes, or
simply shoes that had meaning to them in some way.
They didn't dance in them, but they had fun displaying
them and talking about them.

Time
for aerobics. Your limo is waiting!
Tomoe
in Anne Noyes'
Honolulu class commented one day that she needed a limo to
pick her up in order to be on time for class.
So...that's just what Anne
arranged--a surprise limo ride to take Tomoe
to class just before the Christmas break in 2001.
The entire class took limo rides as well, and everyone had
great fun riding in the limo.

YMCA!
Anne Noyes'
students in Honolulu spell out Y-M-C-A, inspired by the song
Y.M.C.A. in the Winter 2002 Let Freedom Ring session.
But wait! Why are there two Y's? Because you hold the Y
note longer than the others!
